The hip-hop community is really making it cool to be a nerd right about now. The updated versions of these thick-rimmed glasses that originated in the 80's are really taking off. To some extent...it works. You can only pull this look off if you decided to fully embrace they style that goes along with it. You can pair them with scarves and old school shirts, as you see to the left. Or you can really upgrade and rock these with bright colored tees and some throwback door-knockers and gold chains. lol =]]. All in all this look is and upgrade, but only if you commit to being a hip-hop nerd all the way. and in case you were wondering....i dont own a pair at the moment. but this is a look that im looking foward to buying this season. =]]
i prefer the cool.
Although i am a Weezy fan, i don't think he deserved the Grammy for rap album of the year. Personally i think it should have gone to one of the most slept on artists of this time....Lupe Fiasco. The Cool is one of the realest albums you will ever hear. Tied together with three metaphoric characters, it is more than an album with catchy singles bought by people who jumped on the "millon copies sold in the first week bandwagon", it is an actual story. Im going to have to downgrade the Grammy's for this one, because it is another representation of how true hip-hop is being murdered by "ringtone rap". So the next time you decide to go out and buy an album put some thought into and buy from artists like Lupe that refuse to "Dumb it Down".
Just a side note on the Grammy's
If you like real soulful music, check out the winner of the best new artist award. Her name is Adele and she is amazing.
